What's with people mispronouncing the word "similar" as "sim-yuh-ler"?

I can understand a lot of mispronounciations, but this one seems extra egregious. Is this a nigger thing? I've heard non-nigs make this mistake too, plenty, but is the non-nig pattern of mistakes directly influenced by exposure to niggerspeak?
