There is no saving any product which has had CIA/Israeli backdoors inserted in the form of Management Engine.

The Intel Management Engine with its proprietary firmware has complete access to and control over the PC: it can power on or shut down the PC, read all open files, examine all running applications, track all keys pressed and mouse movements, and even capture or display images on the screen. And it has a network interface that is demonstrably insecure, which can allow an attacker on the network to inject rootkits that completely compromise the PC and can report to the attacker all activities performed on the PC. It is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy that can’t be ignored.

And now they want to double down with adding Microsoft pluton, because one owner-control usurping backdoor wasn't enough.

That’s the knee jerk reaction to Pluton. It actually has utility for military and corporate security where they are very concerned about espionage. I guess Linux users are mad about it but it’s not as if the NSA doesn’t have all of your Internet traffic tied to your identity, devices and IP addresses anyway. If you’re concerned about backdoors you shouldn’t have an internet connection.

No I’m being realistic and pragmatic. Keep your shit separate. Stay offline for anything important. Don’t even speak about it in a room with internet connected devices. Do what SCIFs do. If it’s not THAT important, Pluton is not a real concern.
