If we're speaking strictly about UI design, 7 was the best. XP had a decent interface but its main themes were gaudy. Vista toward the end was actually pretty similar to 7.
8 and 11 take the cake for worst. Metro was horrible, and 11 is simulatenously dumbed down while also having anything important obscured. The windows themselves feel like they were cheaply coded in java. On to of that, it injects propaganda straight to the taskbar. 10 was just okay. Very sterile.
All have multiple desktops and customizable icons and full of color scheming.
You can change the font on menus.
3D objects.
Windows is like a tranny prostitute. Lipstick on a pig. And when you lift up the skirt you find a Bill Gates virus infected dick and ulcered anus that has been banged by every dot head script kiddie.
I switch 100% to Linux a couple years ago. I can do anything on Ubuntu that anyone can do on Windoz. And windoz has gotten worse since ver 8 and 11 is absolutely useless.
Oh absolutely. Windows is a data collection engine now, not an operating environment - on that we fully agree. Linux however, just isn't a serious desktop OS. For example, installed Mint cinnamon on a Razer laptop, it took 47 steps to get control of the rgb on the keyboard so I didn't have to look at the default transition pattern. It's fucking cumbersome in ways it shouldn't be. In order to be a valid OS, it can't remain the way it is. It's incompetently hyper-competent. And that just doesn't work for most people's daily driver.
Understand that out of the box, there is a default color transition that is permanent until you install the driver and configure it. If you don't want a slow pulse constant rainbow - then yeah, you're going to need to configure it.
Sorry not sorry? Are you openly gay or are you still in the closet? Do you also say things like 'not trying to be that guy'? Jesus Christ man. I agree Linux is excellent in many ways. If I wanted to run headless on a virtual machine - it would be great. For a standard desktop environment, it's clumsy and cumbersome. This is not a controversial statement.

This tool pretty well sorts out most of those issue. Mix that with Open-Shell and it's fine.

You want a very pretty interface? Try KDE.
Minimal XFCE
Normal Gnome
