The Open source ecology Car and Open source ecology Truck both seem like interesting projects to check out. I'm curious if there are alternatives others know about.

What's stopping people from building their own cars? I'm sure there's safety regulations, etc. But other than that...

Had a friend explain that a relative of his worked for an automotive manufacturer in the late 90s. Found that replacing a plastic part with metal would prevent the part from ever breaking. He brought this to the attention of management and explained the part was to remain plastic.

Now, I’m not a car guy, but I believe it was the flux capacitor or possibly the tank for the headlight fluid.

He wasn't boycotted for inventing the assembly line and paying a living wage to his employees. He was attacked because he owned his own newspaper and published extensively researched articles about rich Jews actively trying to destroy and subvert the American people. He then compiled those articles into a book called "The International Jew, The World's Foremost Problem" and included a free copy in the glove box of every car sold.
Great book, I highly recommend it.
