What? I don't understand, I have a different perspective.

It's more like people are quickly lost if you don't slow the pace of the conversation. You also have to start at an extremely low level of expectation.

For example, if one starts a conversation at a 3rd to 6th grade level, most people can handle it. If one begins the conversation at too high an intellectual level, the other party hasn't a chance to grasp the concept, they don't even have the foundation.

It's very exhausting to talk to others with more than a 15 to 20 point gap, because they lack the foundational understanding to comprehende the subject matter. This leads to emotional outbursts because even subconsciously we all despise those who demonstrate superiority over us. Problem is, you can't change intelligence much, if at all.

Those of a higher IQ will be left either constantly teaching others basic concepts in a vain attempt to connect to others in a manner closer to their level of operation. This rarely works, if ever. Some seek out their peers, but that has its own issues, as many with high IQs lack social aptitude and push everyone away by default.

The end result for the smart people is isolation and loneliness.

It's not a lack of them being able to communicate well. The issue lies with a gap in understanding that is impossible to close.
