I think there was some appeal when there are only a couple in the country and they were this unique weird place. But you don't want to build Disneyland on every street corner.

Compared to a lot of other places they are clean, well lit, and the food is moderately better. I was a CDL owner/operator for almost 15 years.

It's clean, and filled full of what normally constitutes as tourist trap junkfood. It's a match made in heaven for weary travelers that want a Brisket Sandwich, a t-shirt with a goofy mascot, and sugar.

Frankly, I'm all for Buccees taking over.

My brother-in-law's brother is a truck driver, and we're on good terms. He's a working man who supports his family with his income.

Learned a lot about trucking and vehicles in general from him. He swears that Pilot is one of the best truck stops around, and rarely gets a chance to stop at a Buc-ees whenever he finds one. Said that Pilot is one of the few trucking stations that always checks the tires and won't let you leave if your PSI is under 80 because they would require you to check for a leak. Buc-ees, meanwhile, has decent enough food and clean restrooms, so they make a good place to stop in the middle of a route, but they're not the most preferred places for an overnight stay, mostly due to crowds.
