People did memorize every letter. Much more efficient than looking at a cheat sheet. But only people whose job it was to transmit and receive messages needed to know Morse.
Oh yeah faggot? You’re right. I had asked brave search yesterday and it , no bullshit gave me “dot dash dash dot” and when I look now, it says you are right. So either a- i was partially retarded when i had searched it or b- brave search was partually retarded or c- i am partially retarded. But either way, you are correct. And i hate niggep.
Nah, it's basically designed to be simpler to manually decipher if you forget the binary letters and remember the method as to how it's created. The binary tree itself is an explanation as to how the letters are created and in what order, or a representation of all the outcomes in a picture.
No I get how you can read it back but what I don't get is
It would be faster to just have the code in alphabetical order than to play this silly game of finding your letter.
The only "genius" thing about this, is that it prevented Morse from accidentally using the same code twice; as if it was a truth table. But it loses its utility immediately after that.
It also explains why one can never find the pattern in Morse code, which is what I think people were hoping this would reveal. The comment makes it sound like we are being presented with a utility cheat sheet, but left with only more questions like how high was Morse when he arranged the last row.
Edit:
Also why are there two S's?
So sos can be either ... --- ... Or it can be ._. --- ._. ??
Apparently if you're German you can say ---- --- ----
Edit 2:
No that's supposed to be an R. That explains why @Neverhappened 's thread didn't complete

It's not hard to imagine it coming about. They probably had longer codes for every letter, then someone thought how they could shorten the ones for common letters. Or some lazy guy started dropping some bits for them and leaving a pause. Or someone thought how common English words are shorter. So someone uses one or two symbols for them, then just thinks how they can be sure those don't sound like others.

I understand the variations after the initial letter, but how is this tree supposed to work if we have tons of letters on the right that have the exact same indication? Or does it go left to right beginning with E or T? E always being a single dot and T always being one dash.
Not a very good description here.
Edit: okay the legend at the top left explains it without words

Or, is there rhyme or reason to the tree?
And what language is that?
