Also there aren't a lot of older bodybuilders, the average life expectancy of a hardcore bodybuilder is around 50yrs old. The older bodybuilders you do see look blown out and haggard and usually have serious health problems.
Also coke, meth, and other stimulants are pretty common in the bodybuilding world. Zyzz was a pretty big coke head and it likely contributed to his death.

Yup, it's probably what killed him or at least was a major contributor to his death. He was also using DNP and was majorly dehydrated when he died so those likely contributed too.
1. Have excellent genetics 2. Spend hours every day training 3. Eat an extremely regimented diet 4. Take steroids (yes, Zane admitted to using d-bol, and truth told it was probably a more sophisticated cycle than that) 5. Have excellent genetics
I've never understood why people ask how to get bodies like this. The answer is simple. Not easy, but simple. The difficult part is keeping the mass on while you get that shredded. These guys had complicated protocols for looking exactly like this on show day. They used "supplements" to promote lean mass while cutting and to reduce recovery time (permitting them to train a lot more than someone who isn't on gear). Then you've got to clear the water with diuretics and zero-carb going in.
They didn't walk around looking like this every day of the year. They scheduled their photo/video stuff for the window of a couple weeks ahead of shows. And for obvious reasons, a lot of the photo/video you see comes from shows.
Zane would work out for several hours in the a.m. Then he'd go home, eat, and sleep for the better part of the afternoon. Then get up and go do it all over again in the evening. He would have been eating on a schedule and probably eating like a house cat to get as lean as he is in the pics.
It's just not feasible for people who lead normal lives and can't pay their bills by working out and posing. I'm in my 30s, and the thought of 2/day training bouts makes me want to kill myself. You just couldn't recover fast enough without gear. Not to mention, I want to do other things with my day besides train and sleep. Guys who get like Zane are some combo of insanely competitive and on the spectrum.
Unfortunately yes, it isn't possible without being on the gear. Also bodybuilders tend to not have a long lifespan. I remember reading somewhere that fifty was the average lifespan of a hardcore bodybuilder.
Absolutely not. Don't get me wrong. You can develop a great physique naturally, esp. if you are slightly blessed genetically, you're relatively young, and your hormonal status is good. Eat right. Sleep well. Train hard.
Sadly, no, Frank Zane's physique is not possible naturally. But it's probably never been easier to access steroids, and there's plenty of information out there explaining how to run cycles and pct. I don't recommend it. I don't see any justification for it unless you're earning your living by competing.
