Movies About Abusive Wives.

submitted by FreeinTX to TellTalk 3 monthsFeb 6, 2025 22:09:03 ago (+4/-0)     (TellTalk)

I did a search to troll my wife.

Search came to with movies about abuse in marriage and abusive husbands. No lists about abusive wives.

Dolores Claiborne was the only movie I found and on any of these lists, and that bish wasn't even his wife.

There are lots of movies where women brow-beat men. Basically any movie made since 1982 in which a woman speaks.

Or sitcom. Everybody Loves Raymond and King of Queens.

Kek.

I was looking for something less subtle. Not sure she'd make the connection. She's a woman, after all.

There's one about an abusive wife called "A Good Marriage"
It's actually not terrible.

He tries to divorce her, so she duct tapes him to the toilet.

Mommy Dearest:"The abusive and traumatic adoptive upbringing of Christina Crawford at the hands of her mother, screen queen Joan Crawford, is depicted."

Men Don't Tell: "This movie shows another side to spousal abuse that not too many people thought is possible--the husband being abused and the wife the abuser."

Mommy dearest was about child abuse by the mother. I was looking for spousal abuse by the wife. I don't recall any specfic husband abuse in mommy dearest.

Yup. That's 1. The only thing about that one is that it's made for TV. Not really a banger. But definitely a good pick.

My hunch is that many of the most abusive wife to husband movies would be under the genre "femme fatale". Murder being the most extreme form of abuse.

Here's a list to comb through. Some of them seem to allude to abusive wives:

Not a wife. But great flick. Would have been the go to if she were.
