I did go home expecting to die there but my sister flew in and got me to a major regional medical center. I did lose my lower leg but they got the sepsis out of me. They gave me a med that nearly killed me but I wasn't alone. Whatever it was had been manufactured improperly so a lot of other people got messed up from it also. They told me that I was in a coma of sorts. Dunno, I lost a few days I do not have recollection of. But I am feeling a shit ton better. It is going to be different getting used to no left foot but I imagine things will be just fine. I have lost over 30 pounds during this ordeal so I am going to eat and eat when I get home.

Now for the heathens.... WTF, y'all made a tear in my eye with the RIP post. But if you leave dangus and Dirtywhiteboy write my eulogy I'd never forgive the lot of you.

It is nice to have my tablet back now I am not in ICU anymore. Just like the last hospital they block most of the interesting websites but we know how to get around that. Hopefully soon I will be shitposting my peoples and droning on about something stupid in chat with y'all again soon.

Hey Reunto.
Thanks for remembering my debilitation. I lost the entire big toe but it's healed up pretty well at last. It was just not healing for the longest. I told my surgeon he must not cut off the foot, and he didn't.

Surgery was in July. Went to visit my family and friends in New Orleans; it was my 'goodbye party'. But in October, it finally started healing. I'm back at last.

Warning signs of sepsis:
Fever ACCOMPANIED BY A SUSPECTED INFECTION
+High respiratory rate (>20/min)
+High Heart Rate (>100bpm)

Unfortunately, most sepsis isn’t diagnosed until the body is in a highly compensatory state, which can snowball quite quickly. Plus, it is normal to have a fever, tachycardia, and tachypnea during an infection.

yeah i did suffer from sepsis two years before CONvid entered in to the picture. i didnt went in to a coma because a) i was treated really fast b) i knew that night if i closed my eyes to sleep that it would be probably the end of me. if you are declared with sepsis or suspect to have it. dont wait a second more and go to the ER ASAP and again dont dare to close your eyes because the moment you do so you will be in big trouble.

they probably gave you a cocktail of antibiotics along with rocephin which was one of the antibiotics that they used on me. i also was under oxygen but oddly enough they will not let me keep the oxygen mask for too long. they also gave it tons of iv. i was in the hospital for about a week before they discharged me. and even then my blood acidosis was pretty high still (btw, if you can check that shit out independently because sometime you will need to take antibiotics for a whole month for that to come down)

do you have a primary care physician? if so ask him or her to send you to get some lab tests to see how's your blood is doing

usually sepsis will leave you with a "gift"

in my case my lungs are semi damaged. my bronchi doesnt work as well after the fact and if i get a little cold i will begin to cough immediately.

I know a guy that built a tepee by hand after losing a leg. But this tepee stands over 16 ft tall! It has a 10×10 platform in the middle of it where this guy put a queen size bed.
I have another friend that lost one leg and a few years later he almost lost the other. He had climbed a tree to prune it. He lost his balance and fell out of the tree, hurting the one leg he has left. He was about 78 when that happened.

I knew another fellow that lost a leg and every time he would get drunk he would lose control of his prosthetic leg and he couldn't walk! He drove a huge nail through the "knee" of the prosthetic leg so he wouldn't lose his balance and fall. It worked great, until he sat down. Then his fake leg would stick straight out! LOL! That dude was a hoot!

I’m glad you’re on the mend.
I had a bout of sepsis myself in Oct. Also Appendicitis and then a stroke. By only lingering problems seems to nerve pain in my leg and foot.
But I’m still here.
You’re right the hospital blocks all the good websites. Including Upgoat. I would use my Personal Hotspot when I needed a fix.

Bone infection, amputation - but it's tbe 'coma of sorts' bit that gets me...same for him...post surgery became unresponsive for 2 days. wondering if he was hit with similar. They gave us no reason.

He was in a coma for 28 days and in a desperate attempt they hit him with chemo therapy to try and kill the infection. He woke up but had bad brain damage and the infection had raped all his organs. He lasted about two weeks and died. broke my damn heart
