NOW TRUMP'S TRADE RETALIATION MAKES SENSE....

submitted by Zyklonbeekeeper to HDLunited 3 monthsFeb 3, 2025 07:48:53 ago (+21/-0)     (HDLunited)

...the tariffs are a shot in the foot, but then again "ears" get it once in a while too.

From what I just learned re the reasons for the tariffs is that all Trump was requesting from fag trudeau and schlomo Mexico pres was a clamp down on the movement of migrant invaders and the fentanyl (that they're packing), apparently the trade imbalance was to be addressed and negotiated through time...if this is the case then he's 100% justified. And Western leaders are that arrogantly stupid that they are adamant in their defense of the social rot that came with CULTURAL MARXISM.

I have no belief in government at all, everything is controlled and rigged against the common man.
I just too bad that what Trump is doing is done so under the watchful eye of a "HIDDEN HAND"...but the ✡️ nose what's going on.

Canadians are arguably the nicest people on earth. You now have 30+ million of them very angry and feeling betrayed about 30 minutes or less from your border.

Have fun. The North remembers.

A lot of Canadians are shit bags when they're in the US.

@Love240 ...as a prisoner in the gulag archipelago of Kanastan I not only agree about the asshole factor but in general most of the country is populated with assholes...and they're clowns too.

Being "nice" is not something to be proud of

Yes it's about fentynol. He said as much even before he took office. It's the only way it makes sense because tariffs don't make sense as an economic policy. Trade imbalance is a good thing. It means we are getting goods in excess of the labor we're doing for other countries.

But there are better ways to resolve the fentynol problem. Legalize drugs. Let them be sold by companies who do quality control. Let sellers of dangerous drugs be liable to litigation. Then drug sellers will prefer to sell drugs that give more bang for the cost where safety is calculated as part of that cost.

Now there is a market for something other than the jankest, most potent per volume (less detectable), back ally lab streetshit possible.

There is a drug market whether its official or not. That drug market isn't going to disappear just because tariffs exist. It's a bandaid. But that bandaid still makes more sense than arguing that tariffs are good specifically for economic policy. Because that makes no sense.

I don't know if any of you have tryed crossing either border, but you get shit from the government of both sides on occasion. Certainly the US has shitloads of armed border guards checking everyone out. So I don't get Trumps "this is on you here's some tarriffs" attitude.

Not that I'm opposed to tarriffs as our balance of trade is way out of wack, but the excuse for them seems false to me.

The trade imbalance is almost exclusively tied to the size of the population.

There's no way in hell Canucks could purchase as much from the U.S. as 'Muricans purchase from Canuckland.

Canada already taxes some things 200% from us in America as a means of protecting itself from trade imbalances. It's tit for tat really.

Only on poultry & dairy.

Tbh, I don't want dairy products contaminated with antibiotics & high blood cell counts on our shelves, our national standards are much higher in that regard. If the American dairy industry produced higher quality milk things would probably be different. The Canadian dairy cartel wouldn't be able to block it so easily.

...and no, nothing is tit for tat in the present situation. That's a blind outlook.

Actually I believe Trump is serious about having tariffs be the main source of revenue for the government.

They aren't just punitive.

We won't be a global power if we do that. Maybe that's a good thing. I'm a little tired of being a global power. Other countries are fine not being number one.

But being a global power requires having the most trade volume both in and out with the most people. This is why China is the next contender. It's a backwards country, but their sheer volume of trade with others tempts them being the number one most influential power. That's going to be certain if we drop out trade volume. So the question isn't just do we want to stop being a global power but are we ok with China taking that role?

If we have 10%+ tariffs on goods that are meant to be sold with razor thin margins we just aren't going to be the best option to buy or sell with. There goes the volume. There goes the influence. There goes the status. And maybe that's fine. But we should at least know that switching to a tariff based tax system completely changes our relationship with the world from empire to isolationists. Maybe that's the point. A lot of shit's going to go down as we solidify an end to our empire. There is going to be a lot of blood in the water as America exits the world into itself.

Free trade is used to steal industries from a target nation.

Of course it's justified, Americans are dying every day because of those two issues. They had no problem shutting it down in 2020 for the same reason given, people are dying, why should it be any fuckin different? Rhetorical question, of course. Just illustrating a point. He's getting shit for it because global powers don't believe he gets to dictate the survival of the American people, and they're probably correct in that assumption.

It's 100% about creating the North American Economic Zone, Trump is globohomo all the way.

The idea was hashed out in the 1940s and the Club of Rome in 1968 (with Trudeau Sr. & all) started their plan to implement it.

5 years to go tops and it's a reality.

Once the economies of Canada, Mexico & the US are truly in shambles, it'll be time to propose their solution to their own problem.

As for drugs & migrants, pure distraction from the main plan. It's not up to a country to control what sneaks out of it, it's up to a nation to defend their borders & keep shit out. It's always been like that.

The same cartels operating in Canada are active in the U.S. and have politicians on their payroll, blaming Canada for drugs is just a show.
