Yea, as a teenager we has some pretty shonky interior scaffolding and extended ladder work going on in the late 80's early 90's on residential/ light industrial building sites - planking off open stairwells while working at the top on a single plank - never heard of it - just dont be stupid and you're golden. whelp.

Here in NZ, all the safety hat and high vis stuff wasn't reall enforced on most building sites/ road works really until during/ after covid .

No eye protection in engineering workshops and open toe sandals in metal foundries .. don't let wogs come grizzling about eye injuries or third degree burns and amputations incurred in the workplace, the onus is on employees to show up at work correctly dressed .. the same as not sh*tting in the streets.
