Notice that she was speaking Spanish with the woman who was being arrested, and she speaks English with a fairly strong accent, yet the officers didn't approach to investigate her.
Gonna bet the woman being arrested had warrants or some sort of conviction. But that didn't matter to the one filming, solidarity with her kin was more important.
It's so weird that this is happening now. What the fuck has ICE been doing all of this time? They haven't been working.
So, what we get is this: shocked illegal foreigners and shocked bleeding-heart Americans, all shocked that ICE is doing their job, finally.
I have a "friend" that is rather liberal, she has been asking me how I feel about this. She's surprised I have such a hardline stance on this- "You came illegally, get the fuck out, I don't care how much tax you paid or whatever". She's confused by this because I'm generally a compassionate, empathetic man.
She's like "What about the children?" I say "It's the parents' fault for subjecting them to this. They knew this was a possibility- getting caught and deported. Remember Elio Gonzalez? Same shit, the parents subject children to this risk- and that doesn't mean that their children get to benefit from their parents' crimes with the reward of fucking citizenship."
She acts like it's the USA's responsibility to take in all of the broken people of the world. I tell her, "That's a slippery slope- you want USA to be the world's nanny, but not the world police?" It's wild talking to people like this who just don't give a shit. At one point, I wanted to say to her "Hold on- why should I even care about your opinion? You have no children, own no property, don't care about the country- you have zero stakes in this. Who cares what you think?" But I didn't want to burn that bridge just yet.
the hilarious part is that when all of them sent their kids to be lawyers to fight the "injustices" of being a second class citizen just to make it easier for the new ones. patsies. the whole lot of them.
