So he should have stayed with his partner and if the assailant gains distance the armed officer has a ranged option. That is when the unarmed cop should take cover and figure out what he could do next to help. Call dispatch and let them know what's happening is one great choice. Bodycam cop made all the wrong moves; didn't secure his firearm, ran away when his only advantage is where he's positioned already, bailed on his partner. I'm sure there's more mistakes but I don't care to spend more mental energy on this.

No. Thats how you get shot in the back. You must engage body to body. Control the hand with the gun and kill nigger. Granted, he had backup so running made more sense since his partners were likely to start shooting like banditos at any second. Nigger beat em to it. One on one and you find yourself fighting over a gun, you better be ready to handle that shit. You only get one chance.

All that being said, it depends on the situation. The closer you are to an open field, the more what i said applies. You find yourself in a cornfield, well maybe you take your chances running. Depends on how much ground you need to cover to reach cover/concealment.
