In 1977, my dad, who was an electronics engineer, took me to a tech convention that was featuring the brand new 8-bit processor. I was amazed how that new chip lithography changed everything in digital processing. I was already familiar with a number of new and existing companies getting into consumer electronics, like Timex, Radio Shack, Osbourne, and Sinclair. It seems many of these new products were barely more than proof of concept designs that had just enough appeal and utility to consumers to justify manufacturing and selling them. I wish I had some of those old gadgets right now, along with the space to store them.
Yeah, That's my problem, I really appreciate old stuff, it's hard to be a collector of electronic items, you can go from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye, and then you're the grizzled old man, with a junkie house full of stuff that nobody else cares about!
