People usually come out of prison worse than they went in, full of bitterness and anger that often leads to more crime.

Any chance to actually cultivate positive traits in these convicts sounds good to me, even the ones doing life without parole, cause maybe it'll make them less likely to hurt another inmate who has a chance at turning his life around someday.

Prison should be both punishment and reformation. Make sure that they don't ever want to go back and also see the error of their ways and want to become productive members of society. That's how it SHOULD be but it's not like our jewstice system is legitimate to begin with.
