The tech bubble of the last five years is predicated on infinite free currency after the Covid stimulus. In the same way that “dot com” was “the future” back when no one understood what the Internet was, now people believe “AI” is “the future” because they don’t understand LLMs or algorithmic image/video generation. Like with the Dot Com bubble, AI is predicated on hardware sales (and the necessity of hardware sales) in order to number crunch these giant models and get them to give answers in a human timeframe.

Fast forward to yesterday and… whoops, the chinks stole our knowledge and made a version of this software that runs on a cell phone instead of a $2000 Nvidia graphics card! Now there’s… less incentive for companies to buy these graphics cards.

More than one day is needed to determine the effect of this slant bullshit on the market. If Nvidia ends this Friday down from where they ended last Friday, however, batten down the hatches.
