6.1 Obtain Character Witnesses for your hearing - request they attend your hearing to show your good standing, they can include employers, friends, family, others who can vouch for you behavior and efforts to comply with probation - if they cannot attend in person you could ask them to submit written letters of support ot the court - check with the court if letters would be sufficient or if the witnesses need to appear.

7. Obtain a public defender
Contact the court handling their probation and ask for instructions on how to request a public defender.

The hair follicle test is a good idea and may save your ass here. Just speak calmly to the judge because he/she/they/them are the ones who can reinstate your parole. Keep a good attitude with them in spite of. Make sure and tell the judge that you would never put something like that in your body.

Did you ask them if paying for and passing a hair follicle test would be your favor? If so do it. Other than that I would save the $ for court fees/fines. What's the minimum sentence for violating probation?

Document this with whatever paperwork you can put together. Same for any medications you may have taken that are "commonly or legally" acknowledged to cause false positives.


With a place where their tests are legally admissible in court? This would be the perfect time for your lawyer to file paperwork highlighting the delayed notice of the failed test, and asking for a court date to address it instead of issuing a bench warrant.

At the least, bring a printout of the false positives issue, and submit it to the judge. Not too long, just the basic facts, something he can read in a minute.
