Well of course, Bible is a late fan work and there's no reason to believe it's an accurate depiction of Jesus, in fact plenty of passages seem eyebrow raising to put it gently. But it's still the only thing we have got so.
Thanks for your elaborate response. I should have indeed been more consistent in my talking point instead of jumping places. Well then, the new topic is why Christians believe in the authencity of OT given how horrific some of the passages may be. Now...I can see that some of the verses from the link were mere descriptions of Jews being Jews, rather than commands from God. Fine and dandy. I already understand that God can't interfere everytime humans commit atrocity on the land, so my issue wasn't with the problem of evil. But rather with many remaining passages still being illogical, savage and unconscionable instructions from heaven, or at the very least actions done by a prophet of God no matter how one may spin them. "It was normal or practical at the time" will obviously not fly with a lot of people. Then there's the question of what the purpose of the book is, if anything. To give an example, you have an entire passage (Song of Solomon) which does nothing except vividly describing sexual acts. The way the translations wash it down shows how even Christians themselves are embarrassed by the content. To me it's clear that while somewhat valuable from a secular historical perspective, from a religious one OT is utterly pointless if not deleterious. To this day i'm left wondering why Christians don't merely follow NT which was actually written after Jesus' birth and is more than the ramblings of woeful Jews who lived prior to Jesus.

Gay atheist website, i know. But it does have a nice compilation. And again, you can perfectly be a Christian without necessarily believing these passages. In fact you should.
