many Christians sold their possessions in the book of acts and gave it to the poor why dont we see christians doing the same thing today?

Acts 2:45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

i have rarely seen this type of behavior from believers in this day and age.so a question arises in my mind are we practicing true Christianity today??

yes we are saved by faith through grace but i seldom see any hospitality among believers themselves and this is odd to me.

are we as christians in the 21st century better or equal than of those in the first century? discuss!

Charity requires an understanding that the recipient will have good faith of spirit. There is not only no guarantee of this anymore, there’s a certainty that they won’t.

The churches of today are shitholes and if Christ was here he would camp outside them in protest. These churches are also full of some of the most selfish, fucked up idiots there are. You don't have to go to a church to get in touch with God. I can do that sitting in a kayak on the river or sitting deep in the woods hunting. The modern church is jewd

He’d fashion a cat-o-nine-tails and head inside them.

Give not that which is holy to dogs; neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turning upon you, they tear you

sold their possessions...and gave it to the poor

As in handing over the first world to the third world by selling out?

Maybe because you do not understand what the parable was teaching.

What's the opportunity cost? And diminishing returns are relevant

If you owned the whole world and could give it to someone, where would they put it?

If you gave everything to a pygmy what they do with it? Our quantum tech, nuclear reactors. It would be useless

So no it makes no sense to give everything to the poor, because most are also stupid.

Instead you have to maximize your utility, so as to stay motivated and provide the excess others may benefit from.

Wealth comes from energy from natural resources and human energy applied.

To create wealth from a state of nothing, poverty, a person must make wise and creative choices with their energy over time.

If you're conditions make you productive to provide for 100 people in an ongoing manner that's better than just giving away your resources for one time benefit. Imaging a farmer giving away his field to the poor - now they all starve, like Zimbabwe.

because even they do not really believe the things they say.
