...DIDN'T RESONATE UNTIL I SHUT DOWN FROM CHORES @21.30hrs.
Pliny the Elder, mid 1st century CE, {"in my opinion nothing is more satisfying than that, the people should know what kind of a person a man had been"}...and I agree.
For a man to be truly dead he has to be forgotten about, all evidence of his existence erased from history...including the family roots.
For the longest of times it's been a custom of habit humanly linked to send off the deceased with some departing words...ie eulogy, epitaph, memoriam, media fabrications, and the basic obituary.
Yesterday my woman suggested that I "put together my obit and eulogy". She told me that I didn't have a typical straight forward life and that she, or whomever, wouldn't want to leave out something important"...I responded while sipping my coffee and didn't really give it much attention. Went into my shop to clean the tooth pitch and angle on the Husqvarna saw later evening and the tune "OLD RECORDS NEVER DIE" came up (it's in my favorites). Her words were in my head. SO...I am going to help my wife compile my obituary and eulogy. Just as an item of interest I'm going to make mentions of the significance of this socially sequestered site and that how the very existence of it proves that a sentence or paragraph can be put together despite a crippling lack intelligence. I'll close out with another "Pliny the Elder"quote, which in fact, are his final words.
Audentes fortuna iuvat ("Fortune favors the bold.") Pliny's last words
Remember..."GOODBYE" is for ever, depart with words that will disappoint those who love to see you leave.
This post has reminded me that I need to get busy myself on a similar project. A very good friend called me up a few months ago to ask me if, when the time comes, I would speak at his funeral. This is a daunting task for me. Not so much for the topic as this fellow is a real character and will be easy to have a lot for me to speak about. My problem is that I am horrible at speaking to a large number of people. Anyway, thank you for the reminder.
Ive been thinking about writing a journal of everything I can recall of my life and just keep it going till the day I die and hopefully one these fucks will find it and read it.
