Oddly, It was because He felt like he never measured up, that he had a sense of humility...

Bob Uecker was a class act. He was definitely of a different generation that understood that baseball players, for better or for worse, were public figures and needed to act accordingly. He didn't take himself too seriously, loved making people laugh, even at his own expense, and never embarrassed or offended anyone. I know it seems like that's a pretty low bar for public figures, but it's amazing how few can actually manage that.
