For some context, out of Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden, Trump has deported the least number of illegals per term. Biden deported more illegals than any other president in history, albeit using Title 42 to do it. Prior to that, Obama held the record.

Trump has never released any numbers regarding expected deportations, with the closest thing being "mass". "Mass" is a relative term. In regards to door-to-door deportations like people are envisioning (i.e. deporting illegals in the US that aren't already in custody/caught at the border), Trump's best was about 10,000 in a year, roughly 4% of deportations that year.

Trump changed his rhetoric regarding illegals, in that he intends to deport "criminals". He has said that specific term over and over again at this point. So what does that mean? That means he's going to clear the prisons of illegals who have been caught committing other crimes. That is less than 100,000 illegals out of an estimated 10-30ish million in the US.

Removals, i.e. court ordered deportations, trended downwards during the Trump administration and, at their best, maintained status quo with the previous administration's efforts, despite Obama deporting less illegals in his second term than his first.

I can go on. But, past behavior is the best indicator of future action, and Trump talked way better of a game than anything he ever actually managed to accomplish. Am I hopeful to be pleasantly surprised in the next year or so? Sure. Do I think it is remotely likely? Nope. It's still the same jewy system it has been my entire life, and despite bleating to the contrary, Zion Don is, in fact, not Hitler.

Imagine believing even 100,000 will be deported. After four years less than 1M will have been apprehended and sent back. Another charade like the wall.
