Ukraine is a Partnership for peace member of NATO since 1996, became a EOP/ Equal opportunities partner of NATO in 2020, while submitting a fast-tracked immediate approval proposal for MAP membership (Military access partner) of NATO in 2022 (which was rejected for now).

If the US Empire hadn't done this, Russia would have just annexed Czech Republic instead. But, since they already had to defend themselves militarily from an evil Empire expansion, it's a win/win two birds one stone scenario to defeat the usurper and also reclaim their land.
