Here’s my thing with vaccines, I simply do not trust the companies making them in any way shape or form. Simple as. I’ll trust in the immune system that has worked for my entire bloodline up until me.

Viruses are fake and ghey, germ theory is a business model.

Simply skimming the surface on how Rockefeller basically created allopathic medicine schools & thus was able to impose germ theory should get anyone comfy with putting their lifelong dogmatic convictions into question.

Critical thinking beats junk science, just because you're not an expert doesn't mean you can't smell the bullshit.

I'm a former biochemist that has used bacteriophages (viruses that are specific to bacteria) to replicate DNA and eventually express proteins. This whole post is mind-numbing with ignorance to the point of appearing to be disinformation. Like Flat Earth theory level distraction.

I understand the irreparable damage that covid did to trust in established knowledge, and that's why posts like these (and FE posts by extension) exist. But y'know, just because it took a whole group of engineers and astronauts to blow up the Challenger doesn't mean we should discard everything we know about astrophysics and aeronautical engineering.

There are so many crazy comments that I couldn't pick out a good place to start, so lucky you for being open to the fact that viruses are real.

/u/Razzoriel: "Viruses are a cell fragment" what? Viruses are DNA or RNA wrapped in a protein capsid, as /u/ICantBeArsed touched on. They do harm cells though, because generally they replicate in an uncontrolled manner inside the cell until the concentration becomes so high that cellular processes required for life can no longer happen (think traffic jam to the point that no one can move) and the cell dies. When the cell dies, the membrane degrades and the viral particles that were replicated by the cell are released into the bloodstream. Rinse and repeat.

This is stopped by your immune system when it comes to clean up the dead cell and finds remnants of the virus (also your immune system tends to try to destroy foreign bodies in your blood, but what's described here is more certain). It incorporates the viral DNA/RNA and/or protein into its genome in order to better recognize and digest viral bits. A side effect of this is that now your immune system recognizes the virus, and it will now destroy bits of it in your blood and attack cells with viruses latched onto their surface (which is how viruses deliver their payload).

Some viruses are resistant to the immune system for unknown reasons - I suspect one reason is because they drop their payload then detach from the cell. So the infected cell isn't recognized until it's dead and released more viruses, forcing the immune system to constantly play catchup. That's why, for example, the only way we treat HIV is by inhibiting the reverse transcriptase. We can't eliminate the virus, but we can put an inhibitor in every cell in the body that slows down viral replication so much that the immune system can keep up. Which is why you have to take the medicine for life. Also, of course, HIV attacks your immune cells, so your immune system plays catchup while simultaneously being weakened.

Anyway if you believe DNA exists, and you should, because you can see it macroscopically, and you believe proteins exist, and you should, for far too many reasons to list, then you should believe that viruses exist, because we've been visualizing them through electron microscopy and X-ray crystallography for decades.


Yes and no. Antioxidants are great and all, but nothing, literally nothing you eat will be better than a rabies vaccine should you get infected. I highly recommend you don't test it. Becoming an actual fucking zombie while cognizant of your zombie status has got to be some special kind of Hell.

Vaccines, and I can't stress this enough, DONE THE RIGHT WAY, are excellent immune boosters. Remember the "This is stopped by your immune system when it comes to clean up the dead cell and finds remnants of the virus." All a vaccine should do is mimic that process. Put some dead/inactive pieces of the virus into your body for your immune system to find, and it can incorporate those into it's "Wanted" list, which will help it to better recognize and fight off the virus. This is how the first vaccine (cowpox inoculation, which protected against smallpox) worked. Cowpox looks similar enough to smallpox, and it was much less lethal. So infecting people with cowpox didn't kill them, and the immune system started killing any viruses that matched the description, of which smallpox was one.

Sorry for the short essay. This whole post is just fucking nuts, and the memes are very reminiscent of FE posts. Like this weak shit. It's just an assertion without ANY refutation to what we know and can observe about viruses. This one is just false because cells grown in media with a virus present will be found, upon death, to have massive concentrations of viral capsid protein and viral DNA/RNA (whatever the virus uses) present. Which is consistent with what we know about how viruses work. It's not even really a theory there is so much evidence present. Again, I HAVE PERSONALLY DONE THIS WITH BACTERIOPHAGES (viruses aimed at bacteria) AND E. COLI CULTURES. The cultures were grown, GROWN in a nutrient broth, and the virus was introduced WHILE THE CULTURES CONTINUED TO GROW. Cultures without the virus continued to grow (control), cultures with the virus, with the same broth, just divided out into a different tube, died and had a bunch of viral DNA for me.

And this one is just straight up not true. Viruses have been isolated and even crystallized for X-ray crystallography and/or isolated for electron microscopy. This entire post seems more like disinformation than misinformation. In any case, the OP links are just so many lies (just from a sampling - assuming they're all like the few I've read).

Indeed, one has to look at what is causing these changes and why there's so much dead tissue around for bacteria to eat and reproduce exponentially.
