Chinese culture has always been like that in general but society also still helps out men with families like USA used to. In the big cities you get the super crazy urban women like here but most of the country laughs at them for being stupid. The old women know how that ends up and are happy to tell. The difference here is our old women - fucking boomers - decided to champion these roasties instead.
I didn't watch the vid because duh, but most likely it did not. The people harmed were rich as fuck Chinese who bought up dozens of apartments, as well as large developers. This vid (very good channel overall) gets into details about what has gone on with chinese real estate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_UhVy9MY_8
tl;dr is they are shifting away from housing-as-investment. "middle class" chinese people don't mind this - they have a very different mentality there than in America. their government tells them to invest in some category and they all get rich for a few years/decades. They don't see it as being genius investors or get an ego about it they see it as contributing to a "rising tide" for everyone. When the strategy shifts they "lose" money they only made because of the previous policy. They all trust that things will work out fine for them. The past thirty years have been a constant climb in quality of life improvement for literally everyone living in China so they have reason to trust.
Maybe that is some of it, but only 33% of Master's Degree and PhD graduates have jobs and people wiht BAs are doing food deliveries in Shanghhai and Beijing. Malls are closing, etc. It's a shitshow.
that's almost certainly a media psyop - i saw it going around a few days ago, too. the stat is probably including people still in school or something stupid. they lie about foreign countries like China even worse than they do our own country.
