Someone somewhere did an interesting post about the minimal consequences that happened to people who evaded the draft during the Vietnam war. Some fun to Canada some didn't some face some prison time but I don't think any of them were actually forced into the military which surprised me. I don't remember the statistics and maybe somebody remembers the post that was put here discussing this but clearly it was the right choice because those who avoided the draft in Vietnam and avoided being either killed there or permanently mentally scarred as they were forced to kill others or being exposed to agent orange or other things were clearly the Smart ones and came out better.
I totally agree but keep in mind that since well really I think it was the Spanish civil War that happened between World War 1 and World War II where for the first time it was civilians and cities who took the brunt of most attacks during war. So not only do you have to avoid being drafted which really have to get out of the cities.
