If Upgoat has to shutdown, let's start a list of potential alternatives to explore! (Scan the list as it grows for duplicates - Don't multi-post options)

Let's get it all out on the table, then create a poll! No one is obligated to migrate to the favored landing site, but at-least we'll have a good chance at getting the most GOATS in the same barn, and, we'll also have a good blueprint of where all the wayward GOATS are scattered! This place works because of the "DNA" that each of us brings to it! Getting scattered, will be the literal end of GOATDOM as we know it.

To be clear the scenario here is that our "planet" is about to die, and we're sending out an expedition team to see were life exists, and if it's suitable to our "survival". I've already seen some names thrown about, but I don't have high hopes for some of them.


Let's keep responses limited to alternative sites and their suitability, and not clutter this thread with miscellaneous chatter.

True. Some of the initial color selection has made it hard to do progressive improvement on it. I managed to discover an area of local-minima where it's not great but it's the best within its immediate neighborhood.

It does have sharable theme support. You can literally just make a text post with css in it (use triple backticks to make it format reasonably). Then you can add the url to that post in your settings to make a custom theme. Best part is it makes it easy for others to use it. It also has a back of house handled #include statement for borrowing from other themes and turning it into one css file. So anyone is welcome to get a head start pushing the site out of its local minima of suck. /s/Themes is considered the place to do it.

I have an idea for a tool that might help me re-do it that I might try in a couple of days.

Me! I'm banned from Gab because I called one of his major investors at the time, Teddy Speghetti, a baby rapist. This same investor who tried to sue Gab only 2 years prior when Anglin beat the shit out of him in a debate and exposed Teddy Speghetti as a baby rapist.

Now, to be fair, when Torba's #2 guy at Gab was a street shitter who married a filthy fuckin' jew, lots of people got banned for the #StreetShitter420 campaign making fun of them. Brings into question why Torba decided to ban India and Israel from posting, considering Gab's origins were Torba, the street shitter, and the jew running things at Gab.

Then, there was that time when a bunch of people were getting banned for pointing out that Torba was artificially inflating user numbers and interaction numbers with bots to lure investors to Gab and that time he used investor money to pay for his extravagant wedding. That got lots of people banned as well.

My bet is that Torba is censoring Israel because Israel is in turmoil over Nutandyahoo's corruption and the whole Oct 7th insider knowledge scandal. Can't have actual Israelis pointing this out.

Like I said, Torba censors like a muther fucker.

Gab seems pretty good to me but I like it here. I was on old Voat so I have the same old look. It says Voat in the header, not Upgoat. Same old colors. Just feels like a trusted old newspaper.
Feels like a club where a lot of kids moved on but some are still around, some newcomers too.
I'm hoping it survives.
