Apparently, those rumors of forced evictions are not true, according to the local government.

Taylor said OSFM employees have been receiving threatening messages from individuals who believe the agency has been involved in such evictions. He said these threats have also been directed at members of the North Carolina Building Code Council, which is responsible for developing code changes and hearing appeals, not enforcing the code.

This does make me happy, though. The government should be afraid of the people.
