Ive been saying this since after vietnam. people today want to virtue signal when they say thankyou for your service. I remember when they gave me shit for being in the military.
Oh yeah, time-wise I was born right during the middle of that war, I can remember seeing the footage of it on the news in the mid-70's as a very young kid! I remember them reporting about "people" spitting on the soldiers when they returned home! I've always been a bit cautious about approaching post WWII vets to thank them, Some appreciate it, many don't, So I just stopped doing it.

We're about the same age. Some of the first memories I have of tv, besides cartoons, was seeing soldiers coming home and a bunch of nasty, stinking hippies spitting on them. With "stars" like Jane fondle leading the filthy bastards. We had Family over there! That damn bitch and her disgusting hippies would be spitting on my family for all we knew! So as a young child I learned to hate that horrible cunt.
