I'll tell you what has worked well for me: having a personality and looking for personalities.

I enjoy a good laugh and, since I started working out, I am comfortable with my body.

I've never targeted women based on their looks, but based on their intelligence or charisma. This disconnects their age and physical appearance from my attraction to them, so I am not limited by what I see - except in the case of fatties, which I am uninterested in because I can see how they treat their body.

I've hung out with women 10 years younger and 20 years older. I guess I'm more after maturity than I am after a specific age-group.

So where do I find them? Mostly online communities that have the possibility of meetups, friends of friends. I like to get to know someone before trying for a relationship, so I don't ask random women out on dates.

And regarding "dates", I prefer telling her that I'm going to do x and y productive things this Saturday, and ask if she wants to come with. Never movies or eating at a restaurant, but I'm going to repair x or go for a long walk y to visit this place that interests me.

The key is to make yourself (1) worth being around and (2) visible.

Go do some volunteer work for your local community, not some national NGO that only wants to enrich the leaders at the top. Talk to people, get to know your neighbors.

For me, finding someone worth my time takes time, and I'm fine being by myself. I keep busy.
