I get so depressed when Christmas is over

I know I’m not the only one. Christmas/thanksgiving/halloween/oct-jan 1st feels like what life if supposed to be. Having a good time, Seeing your family. All your bullshit stress melts away. If you’re struggling I get it man it sucks but buying shit isn’t what most people care about. Dead family members yea they should be here, appreciate who you got. But then you get back to the grind. The rape of our kings and queens communicating via the occasional call or text. I hate that shit. We need a second Christmas without the gifts and decorations but just as important. Time rolls on so fast and relentlessly. The holidays feels like the one time we actually stop and think about it. Take time out to love each other

Go, when your kids grow up and make families of their own, you will have how many new family units to enjoy? I have a very small, very tight family that I thank God for almost nightly. (Sometimes I nod off before I in earnest thank the heavens.)

All the more reason to plan for and prepare for next Christmas!

We host Christmas Eve at our place. While it’s generally a strenuous endeavor, I’ve got to remember we’re creating memories for the family. Next year, I’d like to get a good espresso machine so everyone can have some good ass coffee.

I’m currently doing sweet fuckall right now after a year of being busy as heck. And it feels nice to just sit here.

Oct - jan is the most beautiful time of the year. The colours change rapidly, it starts smelling wonderful and looking magical. Then it gets really cold and everyone gets together to be cozy. I hate summer

I was never a coke head cause I did coke with coke heads and I remember thinking I don’t wanna end up like these fuckheads. I went to a Coke “party” one time. Bunch of guys mound of blow on the table. Half of them are staring out the window wondering if it’s a cop. I was like nah I don’t need that shit. I like amphetamines

Yes. I love amphetamines. I love them so much I had to stop doing them. I would be up for 3-5 days every week. Not eating. Seeing demons. When you’re up for 5 days the demons come and say hi. Coke on the other hand is super fucking addictive. Iv heard that it releases oxytocin. The chemical in your brain that makes you love a person, and I believe it. I remember the first time I did coke I started having dreams about it. That freaked me out. I also remember being high on blow and not having that much fun but when I would think about that time I would remember it as being the best time ever. Coke has some weird shit with it. Amphetamines are straight forward. Coke fucks with your mental balance.

By the time I finally get used to it, the days start to become longer.

There’s something nice about those cool summer nights hitting by about 9:30 PM. Reminds me of all the kids playing and adults sitting along the city block back in the day.

for me it doubles. i had a family reunion just this past thanksgiving and honestly i couldnt stand it tried to talk to my brother in law but it seems we dont like each other so despite that we kept it " cordial" with fake smiles all over the place and boy i hate that.

aside from that. my sister brought in a nanny for the kids that was dry and unapproachable as hell and i said dry because she would answer with an attitude that was kind of unbecoming of her. yeah i dont like large gatherings, i stood there and tried to fit in but after awhile i bolted back to my room and put some music of my liking on my headphones and tried to forget that there was an event going on.

weird, because as a kid i used to feel exactly as you feel OP. i was always looking for the holidays for contentment but as an old man that has changed alot, i prefer solitude these days meh

I used to get terribly depressed after Christmas. But since having kids, all my focus is on them having a good time that I have completely lost that yearly week or so of depression.
Now I spend all my time thinking of how broke I am now that I bought so many toys and gifts lol.

I cling to my childhood memory of Christmas in a bad way, because I know I'll never have it back, and it's a bad thing for me to do. Christmas hasn't really meant shit after my grandfather passed away early 2017. While Christmas meant my whole family got together, I also knew I'd get presents, which looking back on was just jewish consoooomerism.
