I wonder if solar power will ever be able to be harnessed to a point where it's actually efficient. I suspect no, not without flying to the sun or something. Simply not enough solar energy hits the earth to power even rudimentary electronics that the world uses.
Solar batteries are only good for little things like flashlights, gun sights, etc.. Tiny devices that don't need much power can get a good extension in battery life if it's got a tiny solar panel working in conjunction with the battery, charging it while it's catching rays.
It is pretty cool we developed essentially a "leaf" that actually can directly power our electric stuff. That's pretty fucking cool and idk about no planet shit. Sunshine into computer use- ceiling fan, or anything electric. Cool shit.
