The whole story has many aspects that are at times contradictory.

She guides the French through several victories, professing guidance from God, but then the French king denies her requests and lets the church imprison her and then kill her.

Might be a lot of events lost to history, but why would a king refuse to listen when she had a good track record of victories? Any behind the scenes scheming hidden from the people?

Why didn't God give her more protection?

Sounds a lot like the story of kings Ahab and Jehoshaphat in 1 Kings 22 and specifically verses 7-8
And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might inquire of him?
8 And the king of Israel (Ahab) said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

Methinks there was some Jew fuckery going on behind the scenes

I think you are very correct.

I'm sure there was tons of money to be made in the 100 years war, and lots of (((advisors))) in the king's ear.

It wouldn't surprise me to hear that Joan of Arc prophecized against the king of France because of the filthy kikes and that made the king mad, revoking protection from the church, and then all of her persecution.

Seems like maybe she was made a martyr to fulfill the will of God. You have no power, God has all power. We are arrogant in believing we can begin to comprehend the absolute awesome power of God.

[ - ] localsal 3 points 5 monthsDec 28, 2024 19:08:25 ago (+3/-0)

Based on history, there is very little gained from her martyrdom. No huge French victories, no lasting peace, no rallying cry, etc, and especially no great conversions - which is what typical martyrdom would lead to, as to honor God.

As someone with ties to French history, it is a bit disappointing to read about all her victories when the king allowed her to follow her guidance, whether from God or not, and then suddenly change his mind and to refuse further requests from her, with hints of back room deals and to turn her over to the church.

But, I also don't fully believe she was a messenger from God, and if someone was truly on a "mission from God" then I would like believe they couldn't be turned away or harmed until said mission was accomplished. Even when having to contend with backstabbing kikes.

France is still France my friend. Had it become part of Britain, we may never have had Lafayette and may never had won our own revolution. You are ignorant of God's plan which is the only one that matters.

[ - ] localsal 2 points 5 monthsDec 29, 2024 08:10:57 ago (+2/-0)

LMAO.

You do realize there was almost 500 years of fighting between England and France since Joan of Arc, right? England and France only became allies around the WW1 era.

Joan of Arc wanted to drive the English from all of France, but the king turned on her and accepted a "peace" with a remaining English presence on the continent. It took more bloodshed to finally unify all of France, and even more blood after that to finally squash the English bloodlust for territory on the continent and their claims of "Casus Belli" and the thinking that the English king had the right to rule French territory.

The whole English and French rivalry goes way back to even before William the Conqueror and 1066 - when the French king conquered England. 300 years later the English king is now trying to conquer France.

[ - ] MaryXmas 1 point 5 monthsDec 29, 2024 16:01:37 ago (+1/-0)

So what's your point?

[ - ] localsal 1 point 5 monthsDec 29, 2024 18:09:37 ago (+1/-0)

LMAO. What is yours?

You keep trying to tie things together that don't make sense.

When the Two Witnesses of Revelation appear, they will preach for 1260 days and God won't let them to be touched. They will breath fire to protect themselves.

Then the Two Witnesses will be killed and lie in the street for all the world to see for 3 1/2 days, and then God will resurrect them.

That is what God's plan sounds like.

God's plan does not sound like some girl who can be killed by the church before accomplishing all of her visions, does it?

Then you try to bring history into it, where you conveniently leave out over 300 years of bloodshed before France agrees to help the Americans against the British.

Meanwhile the British are also engaged in another revolution in India, in which Great Britain devoted more resources to successfully defeat - meaning that India may actually have played a much greater role in the creation of the USA than the alliance with the French.

I answered the original question and stated that Joan of Arc was most likely more of an elevated footnote to history than either a warrior or servant of God, and it shows because of your point that God has all the power, not the girl or the flip flopping king of France.

She was a servant of God. Simple as. You just don't seem to understand that God's plan doesn't need to fit your criteria.

[ - ] localsal 1 point 5 monthsDec 29, 2024 19:51:55 ago (+1/-0)

LOL. Trying to make a mediocre footnote fit your criteria as a servant of God.

[ - ] MaryXmas 1 point 5 monthsDec 29, 2024 21:26:07 ago (+1/-0)

Well I don't know you name. Seems you may be less than a footnote. It is my duty to follow the path that the Lord leads me however humble my calling.

We are mere tools guided by His divine will. Vessels of clay molded for His purpose.
Or we are damn fools , maybe both.

I read somewhere her accomplishments were very exaggerated. As her military genius.

Go down to the section "Relationship with Joan of Arc" and we see that you are completely full of shit. From your link: "15th-century archives do not seem to fully establish a special relationship between the two comrades-in-arms". Are you here just to piss people off?

[ - ] SirNiggsalot [op] 3 points 5 monthsDec 28, 2024 17:01:39 ago (+3/-0)

Exactly, they were contemporaries, that's about all that is known.
Btw, I'm completely OK with being here just to piss people off

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking 2 points 5 monthsDec 28, 2024 18:24:04 ago (+2/-0)

I know who you are, and you're okay with me. I was addressing the two-day old account that posted the link.

There is a considerable body of opinion that Joan of Arc's comrade in arms Gilles de Rais was innocent of the charges leveled against him, that as an able military commander and a national hero TPTB - dare we say Jews - didn't want him sharing the spotlight and preferred scurrilous charges against him. The same way and for the same reason they did the Maid in, and virtually the same way and for the same reason "they" got rid of General George Patton in 1945.
