I had a LG voyager back in high school. Man did I feel like a pimp when I showed that shit off. Crazy to think I was busting my ass working all the way back then. Those thing were not cheap.
If you want to get really pedantic, A/An is one of the few rules in English which is based soley on phonetics. Abbreviations can differ from full names. LG starts with a consonant, but L is pronounced (E)l, so it gets the AN treatment in that form. LG's full name is Lucky Goldstar. "I had a Lucky Goldstar Voyager"/"I had an LG Voyager".
There are also rare exceptions with vowels and consonants. For example, oppossum can be either depending on your pronunciation (and NOT spelling), and there are a handful of elements/chemicals, and old Greek words that start with Y as a vowel. E.g. "Dave got lung cancer from working in an yttrium mine", or "The 25th letter of our alphabet is an ypsilon, but we call it a Y".

because lg is not another vowel. hence the N. its what we do in english between 'A' and a word that starts off with a vowel. makes it easier to say.
