Reading that reddit thread is like going into the minds of the insane. Standard rules don't apply. Strange explanations for everything just to avoid the simplest logic which goes against their narrative.

plus the fact that homelessness is expensive af, you have no way of cooking or storing your food, so you have to eat at restaraunts, that costs a premium as additional taxes are levied on prepared foods, thats a poverty tax.

public transit is something you rely upon to try and get yourself out of poverty, whether its chasing a job, or chasing after those resources that are supposed to help get you out of poverty, thats another poverty tax. (they tend to be government funnded or provided, meaning they tend to be somewhere between actually useless and woefully incompetant, the gov pays them for what they are suppossed to be doing, there is no quality control).
