both of these can be claimed by the surviving spouse, for the pension just contact the pension administrator with the death certificate, etc. For the social security you can claim their benefit instead of your own (if theirs was higher for instance) but you still have to be the proper age (67) to claim the full amount, regardless of how old the spouse was.

Children and grandchildren can also claim if they are under 18. I believe it's only 50-75% of the amount though, technically two grandkids under 18 could draw 75% each, but there's a cap somewhere.
