When I pin my upload it gets removed from All and is nowhere to be found except my sub. If I unpin it it magically reappears.

This is a good thing. Faggots were manipulating Reddit by pinning posts to get it upvoted and onto the front page. It might not have a noticeable effect here because of the small crowd, but it does work on bigger sites like scored or the former guilded.
