Now if they had said all men are equal under the law with the same rights it is slightly true...

But let's look at that statement. You are in no way equal to LeBron James son in America as a white male. If I had been adopted by LeBron James I would have been a better basketball player then his son and played in the NBA. Instead I played high level juco then division 2 basketball and a little pro ball at a low level. So no there is no equal starts but at least in America you can Forrest Gump your way to the top with work and some luck

That requires people being able to think in hypotheticals, and not many can. Critical thinking has been brainwashed out of many millions of people.
