Ever since 2020 Christmas has been very weird culturally locally but this is the first christmas I actually feel disconnected to it

submitted by CoronaHoax to whatever 6 monthsDec 8, 2024 19:55:28 ago (+6/-0)     (whatever)

All the way up until 2019 skyscrappers of windows had christmas trees early, that lasted long into feb etc, with christmas lights as well. 2020 like all of a sudden it was like 20% had trees etc. And each year after was like a wither and wane of different slightly coming back and leaving again. Weird stuff like "christmas in july" and stuff like that.

This is the first year I feel like all the decorations anywhere, are just decorations.

Go and immerse yourself in some of the pagan forebears of Christmas. Learn about the ritual of cutting the evergreen tree. Why this time of year is special. What the plants involved symbolize. And don't hesitate to enjoy the contemporary portrayals of Santa Claus either. I have found that getting a wide historical dose of the celebrations of the season makes it so much better. Realizing how old this is, it adds mystique and connects you to something your ancestors were celebrating ages and ages ago, for ages and ages.

And don't go chasing the spirit. If you stop trying to feel it, you might find it sneaks up on you. Fuck what the corporate world is doing. A big part of the significance of all of this is your will to see through the mundane to the sacred. Don't stop at the mundane or you'll certainly be spiritless.

Merry Christmas, brother.

Happy Yule to you, too.

That is called depression which influences disassociation.

Focus on your own happiness as to what used to be, and focus on what can be.

Sing some carols

I was thinking to take the sax on the street and play some christmas songs. Now that Trump is actually back in office instead of the likes of Biden, Harris, or other unbelievably shitty democrats, I feel humanity overall is deserving.

There would be a lot of people that might benefit from that. The old, young, the down trodden.

It's fun to hear something like that in the city.

Do it! A few years ago a neighborhood in our town had a street decorated that you could walk through. A group of White boys were standing outside playing carols on saxophones. It was beautiful.

I like singing carols but adding “jews” to the lyrics

Just hear those sleigh bells jingling,
Ring ting tingling JEWS
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with JEWS
Outside the snow is falling
And friends are calling "IT’S JEWS,"
Come on, it's lovely weather
For a sleigh ride together with JEWS.

No self-respecting White man would ever celebrate the birth of a Jew.

Bro, the Winter Solstice predates Christianity by a whole lot.

You don't need a baby Jew for Solstice.
Only for Christmas.

I bet you could find a way to make an anti Christian remark while explaining long division. Most of us hate you. Not because you said your belief but because we all know and you won’t fucking stop. You are regarded as a fucking idiot here.

Or, you can just get on the correct side here and make fun of the Jew worshippers with me.
Trust me, it's much more fun over here.
All the Christ-Cucks eternally BTFOd.

Your side isn’t 100% correct and your methods are counterproductive. I’m not saying current Christianity is right but you aren’t drawing anyone into a discussion. You’re just being a niggerfaggot asshole.

Strangely pleasing

Nostalgia can be a trap for adult children but I’m almost certain it manifests so that we can bring that old Christmas joy to our own children.

i’ve heard old timers talk about how every day was spent outdoors after work or school with at least 75% of people outside their homes, in the parks and streets socializing.
To within a year, you could walk entire blocks without seeing anybody outside, with nothing but a blue flicker coming from the inside of every single house.

If they didn’t at least have the blessing of every single person they still get to see, being White, it must have truly felt like the end of the world by heat attack.
