I used to buy a dozen eggs for $0.50. Now it costs $4.

submitted by PoundOfFlesh to whatever 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 16:42:31 ago (+15/-0)     (whatever)

The price gouging on dairy has been going on for what, over 3-4 years now? Since the latter days of muh covid.

I barely eat eggs anymore. I only buy them when they're cheap enough in a sale or markdown, which is rare now since the normal price has gone up even more from previous highs.

I buy clearance milk, too. It's usually fine well past the 'best by' date. Unless

The pricing schemes are arbitrary. Faggot farmers and greedy mega corps can raise the prices because most people can't do without these essentials. But imagine if for even a couple weeks everyone stopped buying milk and eggs.

Maybe it's all part of the gay push to have us drink soy milk and "plant-based egg substitute", like how they've been pushing the fake meat shit for the last few years.

In before, "Get some chickens you retard."

Man, we make an entire thread just being nostalgic for old food prices?

I was trapped in Chicago for a good while. A once white neighborhood turned mostly Hispanic. But those Carnicerias were great. Could get ground beef for $1.99 a pound every single day.

I’d grab an avocado, bag of shredded cheese, and some sour cream. That taco Ghoulash kept my broke ass lean and full for 24 hours.

I miss eating avocados regularly. Prices on those have risen at higher rates than other common produce.

We sell for 6 bucks and just about break even. Feed and other incidentals cost. Supermarket eggs hug nuts. Go to a farmers market and buy a dozen farm to you. Now go buy those supermarket eggs and crack both kinds in a small bowl . Store bought look pale yellow compared to the farm fresh.Taste is better too.I also urge you if you can to get a few chickens . You'll see the difference.

Everything is high as hell. Greed has taken over. Every time the democrats get in this is the type of shit that happens then they start flailing their arms and saying "oy vey look what the republicans did".

[ - ] Niggly_Puff 2 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 16:51:51 ago (+2/-0)

Everything is damn expensive now. The dollar is dying.

[ - ] PoundOfFlesh [op] 2 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 18:35:49 ago (+2/-0)

That "rent is too damn high" nigger meme needs to make a comeback.

[ - ] NoSalvation 1 point 5 monthsDec 7, 2024 06:05:29 ago (+1/-0)

You could sell those eggs for 50ct

[ - ] Anus_Expander 1 point 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 18:27:40 ago (+1/-0)

Do you buy eggs at the Rolex store?? I live in a very expensive FL beach town. Eggs at Walmart are $6 for 36. My store is only a few months old, staffed by honkies, clean as a whistle.

[ - ] PoundOfFlesh [op] 0 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 18:34:14 ago (+0/-0)

Do you buy your eggs at the toilet store?

[ - ] Anus_Expander 0 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 18:43:48 ago (+0/-0)

They taste fine. Eggs at Publix are just a few pennies more. Milk is 4.85 a gallon.

[ - ] PoundOfFlesh [op] 0 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 18:46:28 ago (+0/-0)

Here the prices at Walmart or the other big grocery stores are quite similar. All at about $4/dozen, even my precious Aldi. Buying in bulk yields insignificant savings. 2 dozen for $7.50 at the warehouse club.

[ - ] beece 1 point 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 18:27:07 ago (+1/-0)

Same here, 2 local farms have eggs at $4. Pound of flesh, try raising the damn chickens yourself and see if you think $4 is overcharging. It's not, so fuck off.

[ - ] PoundOfFlesh [op] 0 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 18:33:59 ago (+0/-0)

$4 is overcharging

8x markup from prices 4-5 years ago. It's overcharging. Guys at the top don't take pay cuts - they pass the costs onto the consumer.

fuck off

Eat shit and die, faggot.

[ - ] FreeinTX 1 point 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 17:25:36 ago (+1/-0)

At the local large chain grocery store in Austin Texas, a dozen heirloom eggs costs $7.96.

[ - ] HelenHighwater 1 point 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 16:56:57 ago (+1/-0)

I can get organic farmer's eggs for about $4 / doz.

You pay more to let the chickens walk around.

[ - ] Gowithit 0 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 17:01:13 ago (+0/-0)

$4 *is clearance for those eggs over here.

[ - ] Cantaloupe 0 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 21:11:30 ago (+0/-0)

They are probably smaller too

[ - ] PoundOfFlesh [op] 1 point 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 21:13:51 ago (+1/-0)

Shrinkflation is the worst.

[ - ] Gowithit 0 points 5 monthsDec 7, 2024 06:14:58 ago (+0/-0)

They don't put as much egg in these as they to - me, every time I cook eggs.

The price gouging

When you're too retarded or jewish to understand inflation

[ - ] PoundOfFlesh [op] 0 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 21:12:26 ago (+0/-0)

Look at this stupid faggot trying to flex, LOL.

Inflation doesn't account for up to 8x increase in egg prices or 3x increase in milk prices.

Not only are you fucking retarded, you don't seem to understand (((who))) is behind all the inflation, price gouging, etc.

Let me guess, you also believed inflation was "transitory" when they told you so?

[ - ] NoRefunds 0 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 22:41:05 ago (+0/-0)

Hmm you're leaning more to jewish than retarded right now, but I'm still undecided.

Here's the test:

What percentage of US currency was printed in the past 3 years?

[ - ] PoundOfFlesh [op] 0 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 23:11:46 ago (+0/-0)

You stupid fucking nigger, this isn't a question of what causes inflation. Everyone else here passed that class years and years ago. I guess you didn't.

It's specifically about price gouging on top of inflation aka the price gouging on a specific items like eggs and milk that retards like you will think "hurr durr it's because of inflation".

Not only that, as I posted elsewhere in this topic they were still blaming muh bird flu as of a couple months ago. Why? Because the goyim believe and accept it without question.

Inflation is a small component behind the 8x rise in egg prices. The primary driver is greed.

Stop simping for greedy food suppliers, dumbass.

[ - ] NoRefunds 1 point 5 monthsDec 7, 2024 02:47:18 ago (+1/-0)

Inflation is a small component

You're a retard, see ya

[ - ] PoundOfFlesh [op] 0 points 5 monthsDec 7, 2024 18:32:28 ago (+0/-0)

Way to take it out of context you dishonest kikefag.

Inflation is a small component behind the 8x rise in egg prices.

Kill yourself.

[ - ] NoRefunds 0 points 5 monthsDec 7, 2024 20:11:19 ago (+0/-0)

I said inflation is the main component in the rise in cost, you fucking kike retard.

[ - ] PoundOfFlesh [op] 0 points 5 monthsDec 7, 2024 22:06:28 ago (+0/-0)

I said inflation is NOT the main reason for an 8x rise in cost, you fucking low IQ niggerfaggotkike.

Go drink some bleach.

[ - ] NoRefunds 0 points 5 monthsDec 8, 2024 10:37:58 ago (+0/-0)

I know you did, stupid fuck. That's why you're a stupid fuck kike.

[ - ] PoundOfFlesh [op] 0 points 5 monthsDec 8, 2024 11:42:21 ago (+0/-0)

Fucking retarded low IQ jew fag can't read simple statements and takes them out of context.

Eat shit and die, niggerfaggotkike.

[ - ] RMGoetbbels 0 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 17:04:27 ago (+1/-1)

Hold on, let's put this in terms of something that is important.

I used to buy a decent bottle of scotch for $40, now it's $60!

The price gouging on dairy has been going on for what, over 3-4 years now?

Hmm? I wonder why that would be? Oh, I see you have decided that it's "arbitrary. Faggot farmers and greedy mega corps can raise the prices because most people can't do without these essentials."

How about the fuel costs that have gone through the roof? How about fertilizer that's skyrocketed? How about feed? How about property taxes? How about income taxes?

Yeahhhh, you're just another one.

There is a reason these things are happening but many of you are too short sighted or single issue concerned to know why. I don't mean to attack you at all but at some point you have to realize the problem is YOU and the rest of America.

[ - ] PoundOfFlesh [op] 1 point 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 18:45:41 ago (+1/-0)

the problem is YOU

LOL okay. I'm pretty sure the problem is greedy food suppliers who are still blaming egg prices on "bird flu".

https://www.npr.org/2024/09/27/nx-s1-5126581/egg-prices-bird-flu

Bird flu is the main culprit for the increasing price of eggs, though “inflationary pressures” are also at play, says Emily Metz, president of the American Egg Board.

I haven't done the math but I'd wager that the factors you mention (fuel, fertilizer, etc.) don't nearly account for 8x increases in costs for the end consumer. For example, oil prices are down ~35% from highs of nearly 3 years ago (still higher than pre-holohoax levels).

[ - ] xmasskull 0 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 16:53:10 ago (+1/-1)

Dairy products take priority, due to their refrigeration needs.

Trucks w/special refer units deliver these products.

Trucks run on diesel fuel, therein lies the problem.

The "dems" demonized fuel, the price rises YOU PAY more.

[ - ] RMGoetbbels 2 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 17:16:26 ago (+2/-0)

Home Natural Gas & Oil Consumer Information Motor Fuel Taxes Diesel Tax

$1.25 per gallon of diesel fuel is ALL TAX in California. Each time a trucker fills up it's $150 in taxes.

[ - ] xmasskull 1 point 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 17:20:32 ago (+1/-0)

I believe it, here in S.W. Texas-.83 cents tax per gal.

[ - ] RMGoetbbels 0 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 22:04:12 ago (+0/-0)

The map I posted is for diesel but going back to gas it shows .38 cents a gallon in Texas. Either it's wrong or someone is robbing you.

.20 cents state tax and .18 cents federal.

[ - ] xmasskull 0 points 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 17:08:07 ago (+0/-0)

I'm pretty sure you can't buy dairy products from the "Farm"!!

[ - ] Gowithit 1 point 5 monthsDec 6, 2024 19:59:37 ago (+1/-0)

yes but if everyone does it those greedy fuck farmers will charge even more. Even if they buy more cows and chickens and werent being strangled by regulations, they know what they can get away with. Have you ever shopped farms? They all talk to each other and laugh at us peons.
