This list of actors is just that. Thompson is at the right level to scare the establishment. The best people to rm -rf would be family court judges that place children with pedos or abusers, educators that teach communist filth, corrupt city officials, etc. Those are jobs that cannot be refilled over and over again because if the last five were rm -rf then no one will want the job. Once the local bureaucracy is broken down the next step is bringing in military units to manage the locals since they'll assume the locals will be afraid of the army. By then it's too late. Think American revolution. British soldiers were killed on the regular when they got off duty and went to the pub. Their families got targeted. Etc.

As always I don't advocate violence HOWEVER the only way to see something like this succeed would be after the deed, the person must never be found and whomever is involved takes it to their graves.
