On one hand, granting preemptive pardons could provide a shield against Trump’s promised "revenge tour" but might also create the appearance of impropriety, effectively validating Trump’s accusations of corruption. Additionally, those offered pardons might refuse them, citing innocence or the perception of guilt that could accompany a pardon.

"preemptive pardons" are not a thing. you don't get blanket immunity from any arbitrary crimes.

They're certain that the liberalism followers are so fundamentalist they'll side with them no matter what and believe that preemptive pardons are protections against meanies and not a pass to criminals. They're counting on them increasing their hate and persecution of anyone against the party.
