Best recordings of all time? I nominate this Pink Floyd song for one of them. What a crazy recording

It's a weird one, the helicopter is about half the song. The pre-eco vocal is neat, also some of the lowest vocal notes around. The line "but around town it was well known when they went home at night they're fat and Psychopathic wives would thrash them within inches of their lives". That's a good line, it's half the lyrics, the rhyme is 2 with 3 and works perfectly, in fact it's the third line and there is no fourth. Fascinating. An ordinary song would mirror that line and eventually be mediocre. But then there's the most glorious 15 seconds of music I've ever heard instead. Good little song, although if my neighbor wrote it and showed it to me id think it was rubbish. The recording carries it

More of a segway than a song, but combined with its entirety, I’d say it was the biggest song on the radio in 1980.

The rest of the song qualifies for sure.

There are not that many perfect recordings.

I wanna be sedated maybe
Here comes the sun
Tripping on a hole in a paper heart
Crosstown traffic
bohemian rhapsody
Band on the run
No rain
Patience
Riders on the Storm
Welcome to the jungle
The meaning of life by Monty python. Very good product. Galaxy song as well.
Billie jean
Papas got a brand new bag
Lets go crazy
Girls just wanna have fun
Maybe love shack
Crimson and clover maybe
Hurdy gurdy man
Unchained medley
Peggy sue for the drums alone
I cant think of anything right now except mainstream rock garbage

Woah, bro!
Beatles songs are a call for a beat-down.
Two Beatles down, two to go.
Crosstown. Hendrix, way overrated.
Hendrix was stupid rocker's worship nigger.
He wasn’t worth a lick on a guitar.
Many, many more better than him.

The background vocals in Crosstown traffic are 100%. That's magic. The whole layout of the drums and guitars - its up there.

Edit now that I think about it Jimi's vocal is not very good

The song is gold, but the movie was the best rock movie of all time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGxXLIO_t3k

Pink Floyd did well with the simplistic music (((they))) wanted to sell, I vote for Vivaldi's four seasons.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zpmYKncjGs

For just recording ratings, I raise you the film version of Mozart's Requiem. That's my number one I think. Perfect recording. The version of Vivaldi you shared was pretty aggressive. Some strumming instrument back there is noisy. Nice autumny feel to it.

I find they and the moody blues are quite corny, but the players passionately help each other make the music with as much thunder as they can. Sometimes it makes a dramatic effect.
