i will never not appreciate a clever piece of ascii art.

except thats not ascii art. i like it tho.

deep ascii is still one of the first examples of a breakthrough movie in digital screenplay.

I’m keen on JPEG or PNG. Generally, if I’m uploading an image, I will simply screenshot it and crop from my tablet. I believe the Apple OS saves as a JPEG.

Posted an MP4 on Catbox earlier and that URL looks to have died.

Webp is right out.

iOS and macOS screenshots save as PNG because UI elements would lose fidelity as a JPEG (even a JPEGXL, which is supported by everyone but Google because they want to enslave the entire world to WEBP, WEBM, and the rest of their spyware).

As for the primary question, photographs are best in JPEG and everything else is best in PNG.

How do you post a jpeg though?

My tablet saves in jpeg, but I have to link it, and even if catbox converts it to jpg, it’s still an moe link.

They are the same thing. When the file is .jpg, it is merely due to the MS Dos based versions of windows with a three letter file limit. .exe, .bat, .xls, and so on. Modern versions of windows are based on windows NT instead of Dos, and are not subject to the same file structure limits, though we kind of mostly, just keep to it out of tradition.

But I don’t think you can directly post a jpeg here? It has to be a link through catbox etc.
And they’re always moe

That's all down to how the website is programmed. Since this site doesn't host files, you have to host them elsewhere and direct link them.

if its a photo jpg

if its a graphic with straight lines and vectors then png

catbox only seems to do jpg mpeg or gif files, anything else it gives an automatic download link.
