She specifically said that we'd be just fine if we stopped going to "brunches and parties". I have to imagine this woman lives in a highly liberal area, where she sees unemployed hipsters sitting around in coffee shops all day.
She doesn't see the rest of us busting our asses to keep the world running, so we may as well not even exist to her- Schroedinger's hard worker, right?
I hate it when boomers speak on this subject. They act like conditions are identical to when they were younger. "When I was 21, I was married with three children and we just bought our second home!" That's nice, how much did it cost back then, and how much money were you making? Probably not a lot, people on $35-40k/year were living very happily just a few decades ago.
Today, $40k/year is living paycheck to paycheck, with typical rent for single room apartments being $1400-2000. Can't save money when we have to spend it to keep a roof over our heads.

First, some numbers......and I can tell you'll want to argue them because......well, you know.
$16h x 40 x 52 weeks= $33,280
$1400 x 12= $16,800
This is your scenario, roughly 50% of your income goes toward rent of a 1 bedroom apartment
$10.35 x 40 x 52= $21,528
$635 x 12= $7,620
This was my scenario, roughly 35% of my income went to a 1 bedroom apartment
We are talking about less than 15%. You know what I did? I worked extra hours, moved into a bigger place with 3 other people. I did that for 4 years. Then I moved into a cheaper place with a girlfriend who also worked. And then we saved money.
Your problem could be location, MOVE. I had to. Your problem might be working everyday. God knows I work with 3-4 retards who can't show up on a regular basis so much so I have to schedule them open most weeks.
I see these kids pulling into work with these really really nice cars/trucks THAT NOT EVEN I CAN AFFORD, crying about they don't make enough money and only showing up four days a week.
What you are not accounting for is things you need to survive.
You didn't have renters insurance, 200 or more a month for electricity, internet, cell phone bill, car payment, insurance, fuel, maintenance.
That last one is a big one, gone are the days when you could fix a car on the side of the road.
Medical insurance is a big one as well. Contributing to a 401k and just everything else added to living!
I work A LOT. Making roughly 150k to 180k depending. Taxes through the year eat everything save 90k that is to support a family of 3 since my wife doesn't work and raises our son.
We are just making it to have everything on autopay. Getting another job isn't something we should have to do either, I get you did and those of you before did, but isn't the goal to make life easier for your children and grandchildren?
WTF? You don't think I had/have bills? That was stupid, of course I did but I didn't mention it because it wasn't on the table and it's kind of a given. He was complaining about earnings versus rent.
Taxes through the year eat everything
Congrats! You are the FIRST person I've seen online, or in person for that matter, to list taxes as a problem. That's a good start.
Everyone complains that they don't make enough and while some only elude to it, most firmly believe that an employer should just pay them more and that that's the reason they are having financial difficulties. NEVER, and I mean never, do they ever mention taxes that take such a huge chunk.
I think it's a combination of them partially liking what taxes do and how it benefits them but I also think part of it is a shame that they fear. They don't want to be called heartless or seem unsympathetic to those who rely on the taxpayer to live.
save 90k that is to support a family of 3 since my wife doesn't work and raises our son.
These are not our problems. YOU chose to have three kids and a non working wife fully knowing what your income would be. You can't expect the rest of the nation to buck up just because you can't control your dick. Should have stopped at two if it was an issue.
We are just making it to have everything on autopay.
Maybe you need to move to a cheaper location.
but isn't the goal to make life easier for your children and grandchildren?
Yes and you have to be responsible to do it. It already doesn't sound like you are.
This is the same as it was during the Recession 10-12 years ago when everyone cried "da bank tuuk muh howse!" People come online crying their little hearts out like an innocent sheep bleets, we dindu nuffin when in reality there is a trail of disastrous decisions stringing along behind you.
And that's the problem with Americans specifically, no self awareness or any attempt at responsibility.
These are not our problems. YOU chose to have three kids and a non working wife fully knowing what your income would be. You can't expect the rest of the nation to buck up just because you can't control your dick. Should have stopped at two if it was an issue.
I hope a nigger rapes you to death you fucking kike, we need more white babies not less.
I know you have had bills, I also remember what the 90s was like, and more so the 80s. When boomers reaped the rewards of the generation before them, and then at the end of the 90s they pulled up the ladder.
Your parents were able to survive off one income and raise a whole ass family! Boomers should have improved that, but he who dies with the most toys wins became the mentality.
Now as in right now there are millions of 60+ working for a paycheck because how so fee profited off the backs of those that did the work.
Look at politicians...that is boomers just fucking over all of us and they keep doing it. The percentage of what you made as to what you were obligated to pay was significantly less back then as to now.
I ain't saying we shouldn't be working, because humanity needs purpose, even if it is sweeping the floor or picking up trash. We shouldn't be struggling like we do is all I am saying.
I realized early on that a job becomes a career when you realize it is about networking as to effort or labor.

I don't get into the boomer bashing, however not too long I stumbled into a boomer twitter discussion about how lazy the younger generation were, spending too much etc etc.
These boomers were actually discussing paper rounds and getting a factory job after leaving school. They seriously don't know what's going on in today's world.
That's why I hate them. Because they don't know shit. They're still living their glory days in their heads- the world hasn't changed since the 70s to them. "Just work three jobs, you'll be fine!" I know people working 2-3 jobs who have to skip meals regularly. And they are hard-working, law-abiding people who just want to get by.
Boomers judge millennials very harshly. I have no sympathy for them, the ones unwilling to take responsibility for their part in how things became this way. They raised the parents of millennials, and millennials were failed by their parents in almost every possible metric- so let's blame the children, right? Ridiculous bullshit.
“They refuse to sacrifice their children and grandchildren to Remphan like I did! They’re so ungrateful! What? They can’t afford to have children or grandchildren? Maybe if they made sacrifices they’d be able to afford them!”
It's not even children we can't afford, we can't even afford to have a woman to help split up costs of living. there's a reason so many men these days are resorting to sodomy.
