That's fine advice, and you aren't wrong, but a bandaid is not the same thing as a surgical fix. We need to be clear about the difference between the problem viewed at the individual level and the problem viewed at the societal level. Yes, for someone who is capable, the right answer is to get into a line of work where you make good money doing skilled work. Also, it's true that there are more thoroughgoing economic problems that make people like Jordan Peterson seem like they're just telling you to climb to higher floors in a building that's on fire.
