I caught that, I had to listen to it again to make sure that I heard that. Carlin was well known for speaking his mind and not giving a shit what anybody thought about it. My guess is that during that era, Mandela was virtually a living saint, and he know that his career was over if he crossed that line... Just my speculation!

It's still almost 2-1 Dem nationally. In Massachusetts it's definitely more Dem. Before Reagan it was more like 70% though. Higher still before Roe v. Wade.

At any rate I fail to see how your personal experiences in the here and now or recent history are relevant here. George Carlin was Irish American. It's no secret. And that they have been heavily Democratic in the times when he was alive and a public figure is also not unknown. You don't need a Jewish bogeyman to explain him.

There are less than 70,000 Catholics of any sort in the whole state. You'd be hard-pressed to find a place with fewer papists.
