Sure are a lot of Democrats in this supposedly Republican administration.

Fucking sad that the left has gone so far left, that people who would have been called liberals 25 years ago, now appear almost conservative. Just shows there is no "conservative" party in America. You just have Democrat Lite and Democrat Pro Max.

Trump appointed the justices that got Roe overturned. Reagan's mass amnesty turned California blue; Trump and Musk both want to deport. We're detransing society; this election was a referendum on that (Harris didn't even want to touch the question when 4 years ago she was gung ho).

Some positions are Democrats a decade ago, some are issues to the right of Reagan. We need to push both.

But for the most part, you're right. We have very few true conservatives; we mostly have Democrats vs. Democrats from 10-20 years ago. We're constantly on defense because they keep coming up with radical crazy shit.

I was a moderate libertarian 20 years ago; on some issues I may have even sided with Democrats. Now I'm way to the right of that. People change, especially after seeing the corroding effect 20 years of unchecked liberalism has on society.

The saying goes: "If you're not a liberal at 20, you don't have a heart. If you're not a conservative at 40, you don't have a brain."

I think the second statement holds truer than the first. I knew plenty of compassionate conservatives when I was younger; they had just dispelled the utopic notions more quickly than I had.
