Why are computers so retarded?

I’m fucked up man but all I wanna do is convert a video file into another type of video file and it says it’s converting and yet nothing happens. Why why why. Then I reset my computer and all of a sudden it works? wtf is that? Are there any programmers in here that can explain it to me? Why is it so hard and easy at the same time?

Are you using ffmpeg? Try this from command line (an example):

ffmpeg -i MaroonsaintDickPicks.webm -c:v copy -c:a copy MaroonsaintDickPicks.mp4

You are using Windows or Mac. Both of them are worthless. If you were on Linux you wouldn't be having these problems.

hey ya damn dipshit - ask chatgpt.

go get ffmpeg (ask chatgpt if you don't know how, it's just an executable). actually, i'll help you - as janky as this looks it is in fact the official ffmpeg build: https://www.gyan.dev/ffmpeg/builds/ffmpeg-git-essentials.7z

So download and unzup that. Then open a command prompt and cd into the directory with ffmpeg.exe (e.g. "cd bin")

Then you go to chatgpt.com and tell it what you want to do. Make sure to tell it that you have ffmpeg downloaded and have a command prompt open that is cd'd into that directory. Then just ask it to write the command for you. If you have questions or problems explain them to ChatGPT and it will help you fix them.

This is how all new software development is done these days.

Have you put in the work to understand the different types of video files, how they work, compression, and file storage principles? If you had, you would probably understand why your porn isn't converting to 4k.

I mean I’m sure it is. I’m using Vlc. I changed some of the files over and they worked flawlessly…..except there’s no audio. wtf man. Iv done this before. Why does it all of a sudden not work

Any problems that are fixed by turning it off and back on again are commonly caused by corrosion buildup on the motherboard.
The problem will get slowly worse and worse over time if you do nothing.

Soak your computer in a mixture of vinegar and table salt for 6 hours. (1 tablespoon of salt for every 20 ounces of vinegar.)
After you take it out, let it dry for 3 hours. Or 1 hour in direct sunlight.

The vinegar and salt will dissolve all of the corrosion. And you'll get another 5 years worth of use before the corrosion builds up again. You'll know when you need to do it again when you have to turn it off and on again to fix problems.

And don't worry, once it is completely dry, it won't smell like vinegar.
